Man Arrested After Standoff in Iroquois Saturday

arrest opp slide copyIroquois - A man was arrested Saturday morning after a six and a half hour standoff in Iroquois.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) detachment were called to an incident on Caldwell Drive on Saturday morning around 7:30 where a man was barricaded in a home.

A number of residences were evacuated and traffic was re-routed until the man was arrested without incident at around 2:00pm with help from the OPP's Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and Tactical Response Unit (TRU).

There were no reported injuries and police say the investigation is continuing.
