VEHICLE STOP RESULTS IN LARGE COCAINE SEIZURE

drugbust01Brockville - On Saturday, April 20, 2013, an officer of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Enforcement Team (HET) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 401 east bound, east of Reynolds Road in the Leeds and Thousand Islands Township.

A 2007 black Allure, driven by Aaron Andrew DERINGER, 21 of Ottawa was stopped for a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offence. Upon further investigation, the vehicle was searched and found to contain 11.55 kilograms of Cocaine with an estimated street value of $500,000.

The driver was arrested and charged with:

1.            Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine

2.            Possession of a Marihuana

3.            Possession of a Restricted Drug

He was held in custody to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Brockville.
